DANVILLE– A new urgent care center will host an open house Saturday in Danville.  Geisinger Careworks is celebrating their newest location in the Danville Weis Market Plaza by inviting everyone to come learn about the clinic.  Ken Berndt is CEO of Careworks.  “They can do any acute care like ear infections, sinusitis, strep throat,urinary tract infections.  We can also do X-rays and immunizations.” Berndt says anyone in need of assistance is welcome to the clinic and the clinic is open seven days a week from 10:00a.m.-8:30p.m. with no appointments are necessary.  “It’s very unusual nowadays to be able to walk-in and get quick care, along with getting a prescription filled.  The other advantage is that…

Power outage affects portion of Northumberland County

LECKHILL — There was a power outage in a portion of Northumberland County Saturday.  About 1,200 PPL customers in Herndon and Dalmatia were without power for about two hours in the morning.  Also, the Northumberland County Department of Public Safety reported that the Leck Kill area was without phone service throughout the afternoon.  All emergencies were asked to be reported to a Klingerstown church.  Phone service was back by late afternoon.  A failure in electrical equipment was the cause of the outage according to PPL. Williamsport man ‘critical’ after I-80 crash

DANVILLE– A Williamsport man is in critical condition after an I-80 crash in Montour County.  49-year-old Jerome Green was driving on I-80 around 4:15p.m.Saturday when he traveled off the road.  In an effort to get back into a lane, Green swerved and his vehicle overturned several times.  Green suffered major injuries and is in critical condition at Geisinger Medical Center. His passenger, 25-year-old Khalil Bell of Newark, New Jersey sustained moderate injuries.  There is no condition report for him.  Milton State Police tell us they were assisted at the scene by Valley Township fire company, Montour County Fire Police, Danville EMS and members of the Michigan State Police, who were driving through the area and…

Two hospitalized after crash

MIFFLINBURG — Two people were injured in a Union County crash Saturday night.  Around 11:15p.m., 19-year-old Cheyenne Moll of Mifflinburg was driving on Baker Hollow Road in Buffalo Township when she lost control of the vehicle on a curve.  The vehicle went off the road and struck an idle farm tractor.  Both Moll’s vehicle and the tractor were pushed into the side of a nearby barn. Moll and her passenger 19-year-old Hesley Griffis of Florida had to be extricated from the vehicle.  Griffis was taken by Life Flight to Geisinger Medical Center with major injuries and is in critical condition.  Moll was taken to Geisinger by ambulance and is in fair condition.  Moll will be…
