Vinny Clausi is not an illegal auctioneer

  SUNBURY – Northumberland County Commissioner Chairman Vinny Clausi is not an unlicensed auctioneer. The second term commissioner issued a news release Friday saying he has been cleared of illegally acting as an auctioneer while conducting the sale of tax claim properties.   Clausi said he assumes a fellow commissioner called state officials after Clausi, in an attempted to save the county money, auctioned off the properties at a tax sale. Unlicensed driver suffered seizure, teens hurt

  MIFFLINBURG – Details are out today on a crash last week, which injured an unlicensed driver and several teenagers. State police tell us, the accident happened on Route 45 in the Mifflinburg area Wednesday, when 24-year-old Chasity Webel had a seizure and lost control of the car.   A passenger in the car grabbed the steering wheel and was able to avoid hitting a pole, but the car still slid off the road. Webel and three teenage passengers all had minor injuries in that crash last Wednesday. Webel received a traffic citation for driving while her license was suspended.   Follow

New program to teach kids about dangerous driving

  HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – John Hanger, the only declared candidate for governor in 2014, says his campaign has taken in $200,000. Hanger, a Democrat, said he personally invested $25,000 of the nearly $54,000 in contributions that he listed on his first campaign finance report filed Thursday. The former state environmental protection secretary and former state utility regulator says he raised the rest of the $200,000 since the end-of-year cutoff for that report. At least a half-dozen other Democrats are considering challenges to Republican Gov. Tom Corbett when he runs for a second term next year. Icy fun in Lewisburg

LEWISBURG — The 10th Annual Heart of Lewisburg Ice Festival kicked off Friday.  Along with late night shopping, musical performances and dancing, visitors to downtown Lewisburg got to watch some ice carvers creating their masterpieces. Gary Glenn was hard at work yesterday afternoon.  He talked about his icy creation.  “They’re polar bears, which kind of fits the theme of the weather today,” he said.  “It’s cold.  We’ve had great winter so far, but it’s not too cold for you all to come out and see it.” Glenn has been sculpting at the Lewisburg festival for 8 years now.  While he’s made many unique sculptures throughout the years, his favorite creations are thrones.  He said, “People like to have…
