SUNBURY — After a windy and cold Friday, the Memorial Day weekend is starting out with temperatures well below normal. Normally, the overnight temperature is about 50 degrees this time of year; it was 44-degrees this morning. That’s well above the record cold for this date…30-degrees in 1956. Friday’s wind speeds were clocked at between seven and 20-miles-per-hour. The fastest wind speed recorded yesterday at the Penn Valley Airport was 28-miles-per-hour. Today winds are averaging about six miles per hour, but a gust of 20-miles-per-hour was recorded earlier. AccuWeather calls for a partly sunny, breezy and cool day, with a high near 64. Tomorrow’s and Monday’s forecast call for more seasonable temperatures...

Watch some of Thursday night’s meeting here: LEWISBURG – Not everyone favors extending the Buffalo Valley Rail Trail. At a public meeting Thursday night, issues including parking, traffic, and safety were all concerns brought forth by residents and business owners. The Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority held the meeting to hear suggestions, input and concerns about extending the trail across Route 15 into downtown Lewisburg.
