The Lewisburg Arts Council is pleased to announce the 18th season of the summer concert series Music in the Park. BIG change this year: the concerts will begin at 7:00 pm in Hufnagle Park (Market Street, between 5th and 6th Streets) in downtown Lewisburg. That’s ½ hour early, in the hopes that more families will be able to join us, and we’ll have light for extra music in all of the concerts in the series. This year Heeter’s Ice Cream is bringing their truck from Riverside with their delicious soft-serve ice cream for sale; part of the proceeds benefits the Friends of Music in the Park endowment fund. The Lewisburg Arts Council’s 10th annual Sidewalk Chalk Festival is scheduled for Friday, July 11, 2014 (rain date Friday, July 18, 2014). Market Street’s sidewalks will be transformed with brilliant colored chalk drawings by children and adults of all ages. Up and down the street you will see hunched-over kids with chalk streaked faces and hands as they legitimately draw on the sidewalks. The festival begins with registration in front of Brushstrokes, 340 Market Street, at 5:00 pm. Prizes are given in each age group: under 6, 7 – 12, 13- 18, and 19 and older. Judging begins at 6:45pm.
