NFF: A Sunbury family relies on Salvation Army
SUNBURY — Its been a really heard year for this Sunbury family of five. A man, who declined to be identified, said they are getting by with disability payments but rely on Salvation Army with extras for the kids, “A lot of (help) comes from Salvation Army, clothers, toys…and things the kids can play with.”
Its the ghings the children want, especially around Christmas, that proves a challenge ofr this couple, both of whom have disabilities. They make ends meet with disability payments and food stamps. Salvation Army officials say most of their giving targets children in The Valley, children whose parents can’t provide new clothing and gifts for their children.
You can help this family, and many others, with a generous contribution to the Needy Family Fund. Each year, The Daily Item, the Salvation Army of Milton and Sunbury, Susquehanna Bank and the radio stations of Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation team up to raise money for families in need.
The Salvation Army distributes toys, food, clothing, and gifts to eligible families. You are asked to please consider a generous contribution to the Needy Family Fund. Donations can be dropped off at any branch of the Susquehanna Bank. (Codi Jade)
