STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) – Jerry Sandusky’s lawyer is asking a judge to force state prosecutors to turn over more detailed information about the child sex abuse allegations against the former Penn State defensive coordinator.  Defense lawyer Joe Amendola on Friday said he needs more detailed information about times and places where alleged crimes occurred as well as the names of people who were there or nearby.  The filing comes a day after state prosecutors disclosed new information about the alleged victims, including their ages at the time of the supposed crimes and where they took place.  Amendola says he needs more details to help prepare double jeopardy, alibi or other potential defenses.  The 68-year-old Sandusky awaits trial on 52 criminal counts that involve 10 victims over 15 years. He denies the allegations.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) – Penn State authorities are looking for a driver who knocked down and stole the sign for “Paternoville” outside Beaver Stadium.  The campus police said Friday surveillance cameras captured images of a driver damaging gates, driving on grass and knocking over the Paternoville marker and another sign at about 4 a.m. Tuesday.  The vehicle’s a gray or silver sedan and may be a Toyota. Images of the car are posted on the school’s website. Paternoville is the site of a tent encampment outside Beaver Stadium where students wait to get the best seats for home football games. It’s named for Joe Paterno, the longtime football coach  who died of lung cancer earlier this year.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) – A Dauphin County jury has resumed deliberations in the corruption trial of a former Pennsylvania House Democratic whip.  The six-man, six-woman panel began reviewing the charges against Mike Veon on Thursday and returned to the jury room Friday – the 10th day of his trial.  The 55-year-old Veon and co-defendant Annamarie Perretta-Rosepink, the former manager of Veon’s district legislative office in Beaver Falls, are accused of misusing state grant money awarded to a nonprofit that Veon ran.  They are charged with theft, conspiracy and

conflict-of-interest.  Veon is already serving at least six years in prison on his 2010 conviction for using more than $1 million in taxpayers’ money for bonuses to reward legislative employees for campaign work.
