SUNBURY – A Mount Carmel man faces up to 20 years in prison after he was convicted by a jury of felony assault charges in Northumberland County.
Jason Bozarth was found guilty on Friday of all charges against him for an incident onAugust 18, 2010. Police say Bozarth assaulted a man at Market and Sixth Streets in Mount Carmel, causing serious injuries to the victim, including a broken jaw and numerous cuts, which required surgery.
The Bozarth trial lasted two days before Judge William Wiest. Bozarth claimed the assault was self-defense, but the jury disagreed and convicted Bozarth on six different charges. Sentencing will be in the coming weeks. (Ali Stevens)
