14th annual Race for Women’s Health is Saturday

LEWISBURG – The annual Race for Women’s Health will kick off the Lewisburg Arts Festival on Saturday. Shiloh Erdley talked about the race.

She said, “We’ve been doing this for 14 years now. It’s a very fast, flat course. Registration is at 7 a.m. You can register at PArunners.com and at raceforwomenshealth.com. We also have a kids run that is free for ages 1 to 8. We really look forward to this event because it’s about the community and people coming together.”

The race each year benefits Family Planning Plus. Lisa Wehr explained what they do in the area communities. Wehr said, “We are a non-profit reproductive health facility. We also do provide the WIC program services which are nutritional services for pregnant, breast feeding and postpartum women and their children under 5.”

Erdley says the race starts at Lewisburg High School and goes down along River Road and loops back. There will be plenty of food including pizza and cupcakes and prizes too. You can find out more online at www.raceforwomenshealth.com. (Ali Stevens)
