17-year-old charged with assaulting a trooper

SELINSGROVE — A 17-year-old girl from Selinsgrove is facing multiple charges after state police say she assaulted a trooper who tried to arrest her. State police say they were trying to arrest the girl on Wednesday, when she became combative and tried to resist. While she was being escorted to the police cruiser, the girl reportedly kicked the arresting trooper in the knee.

She has been charged with aggravated and simple assault, harassment and resisting arrest for the incident Wednesday in Snyder County. The girl has not been identified due to her age. (Ali Stevens)
