20th annual Milton Spring Fling

MILTON – The Milton YMCA will be hosting their 20th annual Milton Spring Fling on Friday and Saturday. Ron Marshall is the executive director of the Milton YMCA.

He said, “The money that we raise from the Spring Fling actually goes to underwrite our financial assistance that we use at the Milton Y. Last year, we gave out over $98,000 in both programming and membership financial assistance. It enables people to come through our doors at the Milton YMCA.

Rob Moyer is program coordinator at the YMCA and talked about some of the features at the 2-day event. He said, “Friday during the day we have a silent auction preview. At 6 p.m. we will have the Chris Clark Bicycle Stunt Show, which is a free event. He does tricks and stunts and comes with a positive message. It should be really cool.”

The silent auction continues on Saturday along with the annual one-mile race, Kids Fun Run and the tricycle races. Moyer said, “The tricycle obstacle course is at 11:30 with five different age categories. Basically, it’s an obstacle course for people age 5 through adult. Were just going to ride the tricycle through it as fast as possible to see who can get the best time.”

The one-mile walk-run gets underway at 10 a.m. and then at 10:30, the second annual Kids Fun Run will take place. To find out more about the Milton YMCA Spring Fling, call Rob Moyer at 742-7321.
