Sunbury gets $3 million water upgrade

SUNBURY – Sunbury’s water treatment plant is getting a big upgrade.  The PENNVEST board approved a $3 million loan for the Sunbury Municipal Authority.  Upgrades to the 53-year-old facility will include construction of new units and mechanical equipment that meet current environmental standards.  It will also result in increased reliability and ensure safe drinking water for customers.  With the upgrades, user rates are not expected to increase.
