5-year-old suspended for Mount Carmel threats
MOUNT CARMEL – A 5-year-old kindergarten student at Mount Carmel elementary has been suspended for allegedly threatening classmates that she was going to shoot them with a bubble gun. The Daily Item reports the girl was interrogated without her mother’s knowledge for three hours and then suspended.
The alleged incident occurred January 10, while the girl was waiting to get on a school bus.
The bubble gun is made by Hello Kitty and shoots bubbles. The family’s lawyer says the girl was questioned by adults without her mother present and was then charged with making terroristic threats.
The lawyer said the girl said she would shoot classmates with the bubble gun and then shoot herself, “so they could all be together.” No comment yet from Mount Carmel Superintendent Bernard Stellar. (Ali Stevens)
