$7,500 raised for Camp Cadet

LEWISBURG – Celebrity Service Night at Applebee’s in Lewisburg was a huge success last week, with $7,500 raised for Camp Cadet. Trooper Matt Burrows says the amount raised is up from last year and they had a great turnout with many generous tips.

The money raised supports Camp Cadet, a free camp that provides a structured environment for kids ages 12 to 15 in Union, Montour, Snyder and Northumberland Counties. The camp focuses on structure, teamwork, discipline and self-esteem.

The next fundraiser for Camp Cadet is coming up in May. Burrows said, “That will be our 9th annual 5K race at the Lewisburg prison on May 11th.”Burrows says you can visit their website for more race details at www.svlecc.com.

Applications for Camp Cadet are now being accepted. The camp takes place at Susquehanna University in June. (Ali Stevens)
