A live romantic comedy comes to the Campus Theatre
SUNBURY — A live romantic comedy is coming to The Valley this weekend. The RiverStage Community Theatre will be performing “Fools” in Lewisburg.
Jennifer Wakeman, President of RiverStage Community Theatre, said they are very excited to finally present their hard work. She said everyone involved is a volunteer spending countless hours working on this play. “Regardless of whether you are on the stage or in the crew, it’s kind of a thrill. It’s a rush that you can’t get any other way,” she said. “It’s a ton of work, but it is so much fun. You get to meet and get to know all these great people. It’s just such a unique experience.”
Communications Director Jove Graham said theatre is a form of entertainment unlike any other. He said, “It is just such this isolated moment in time. If you write a book someone can pick it up 30 years later and read it. Or, if you write a song, someone can download the MP3 20 years later. But with live theatre, you’ve got to be there at the time. This thing only exists for a short period of time… You can go to a movie any night of the week, but there are only a few times a year that you can go to a theatre performance.”
The RiverStage Community Theatre will be performing Neil Simon’s “Fools” on Friday and Saturday night at 7:30p.m. and Sunday at 2:30p.m. at the Campus Theatre in Lewisburg.
