Ashley’s Auction celebrating 9 years
SUNBURY — With Ashley’s Auction just days away, Ashley Brubaker and her mom Deb are getting ready for the excitement. Deb said Ashley has been working hard for months to prepare.
“Usually we start in February, and from February until the day before the auction, she is working hard at this. We send out probably around 500 emails to people all across the United States including Jamaica. Then each week she picks a different town and hits that town up for donations.”
This is the 13th year for the 94KX Cares For Kids Radiothon. Ashley first got involved nearly 10 years ago by placing miracle canisters in stores, and raised over $200. But that wasn’t enough for Ashley.
“She wanted to do more. More, more, more. So we asked Drew (Kelley, from 94KX) if we could take over the silent auction. We did, and the first year I think we raised somewhere between $500 and $1000. Last year she raised $26,000. So we’ve come a long way, baby!”
The 9th Annual Ashley’s Auction will be held Saturday August 3 at the Susquehanna Valley Mall. Some items that will be auctioned off include a car, a cruise to the Bahamas, gift certificates, sports memorabilia and more.
