Attempted child abduction in Middleburg

MIDDLEBURG — A 13-year-old Middleburg boy escaped abduction this morning.  According to police, the boy was walking on West   Market Street on his way to Midd-WestMiddle School around 8:30a.m. when he was approached by a strange man.

 

The man allegedly said “Come on, you’re coming with me.”  The boy then attempted to run away, when the man grabbed the back of his shirt.  The boy was able to escape and run to safety.

 

The man is described as a white male around 40-years-old with light-colored hair.  He may be approximately 200 pounds and 5’10″ tall, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.  Anyone with information on the attempted child abduction is asked to contact Middleburg Police at 570-837-0321.  (Codi Jade)
