Barbour’s defense to hire computer expert
SUNBURY – Miranda Barbour’s defense attorney will be allowed to hire a computer expert to assist in her murder trial. Attorney Ed Greco asked Northumberland County Judge Charles Saylor to allow the defense to use an electronics expert to help them sift through thousands of computer files, which may have relevance to the case.
Among them are nearly 65,000 pages of Google searches, various websites that both the defendant and the victim may have used and a search warrant for various calls and text messages made during the night 42-year-old Troy LaFerrara was killed.
Greco said they are not sure of the relevance of all of the information yet, but having this computer information is critical to the defense. Saylor granted the motion. (Sara Bartlett)
