Route 11 wreck leaves Bloom woman ‘critical’

BLOOMSBURG — A Bloomsburg woman is hospitalized at Geisinger Medical Center after her vehicle was hit by a truck hauling a trailer full of animals Thursday afternoon on Route 11. 76-year-old Patricia McLaughlin is in critical condition at Geisinger Medical Center.

According to tThe Press Enterprise, the crash happened when the driver of another vehicle, 58-year-old Neil Young of Young’s Funny Farm, was towing his therapy animals, including two horses and three donkeys, when he turned into the path of a vehicle driven by McGlaughlin.

She was pinned in her car and had to be cut free from the wreckage. McLaughlin was flown to Geisinger Medical Center and is listed in critical condition. Young suffered minor injuries and his animals were not hurt in the accident. (Ali Stevens)
