Broadway hits coming to Susquehanna Valley Mall

SELINSGROVE — Something new is coming to the SusquehannaValley Mall, and it’s not a store or a restaurant.  The Courtyard Theater plans to feature local talent performing Broadway hits just outside of J.C. Penney.

The theater is a product of producer Art Lieberman and director Bob Taylor.  Together they are working to construct the theater they plan to open the second week in October with a production of the musical-thriller “Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street.”  Nine performances are scheduled for the last three weekends in October, and open auditions are scheduled for August 5, 6 and 7 at 7:00p.m. in the theater.

Taylor said the Susquehanna Valley Mall has been very inviting to them.  He said some mall stores are considering giving discounts to their shoppers and Garfield’s Restaurant is considering running a “dinner and a show” campaign for theater-goers.

Along with Broadway hits, the theater also plans to feature shows for children, concerts, corporate events, fashion shows and many other events throughout the year.  For more information on auditions and upcoming shows, go to  (Codi Jade)
