Bucknell draws 11 seed in big dance
Butler opens as No. 6 seed, faces Bucknell
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) – Hundreds gathered in the Campus Theatre to watch the NCAA tournament selection process last night. The crowd cheered upon learning that Bucknell is even higher than the home fans expected–an 11-seed.
Bucknell a history of NCAA upsets, including a defeat of powerhouse Kansas in the 2005 tournament. This year’s squad is led by standout senior Mike Muscala, a jump-shooting center who can take over games in the post.
Now, Butler faces a potentially tough opening game in the NCAA tournament against the Patriot League champions from Bucknell. The sixth-seeded Bulldogs (26-8) face the 11th-seeded Bison (28-5) in Lexington, Ky., on Thursday in the East region.
