Childcare center was evacuated earlier today

DANVILLE — Children were evacuated from a child care center in Danville today due to an electrical burning smell at the facility. Montour County Communications tells us, the ‘all clear’ has sounded and children are back in the facilility.

 

The Daily Item reported that the Danville Child Development Center was evacuated around 7:20 this morning after an alarm sounded. There were about 15 children at the center at the time of the alarm and all got out safely.

 

Firefighters searched the area and unplugged a soda machine with a smoking outlet. No damage was reported. Danville ambulance and Mahoning Township police assisted the East End Fire Company at the scene. (Ali Stevens)
