Couple generously gives to their alma mater

BLOOMSBURG — A couple is giving back in a big way to their alma mater. Bloomsburg University announced that Duane and Susan Greenly gave $1 million to the BU Foundation, money that will be used to create The Greenly Center. The 44,700-square-foot , four-story structure will house offices and also offer parking.

Duane Greenly is a Bloomsburg native, and both Duane and his wife Susan are alumni of the school, graduating in 1972. The couple now lives in Mechanicsburg. The project is expected to begin in August at the site of the former Cole’s Hardware building along Market Street. Completion of the $6.5 million project is expected next summer. (Sara Bartlett)
