Ed Rendell talks Eagles on opening day

UNDATED — The Philadelphia Eagles open their season tonight (Monday) with a game against rivals the Washington Redskins.  Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell is also an Eagles football analyst.

We talked with him this week in a recorded interview and he says one of his biggest concerns about the team is their secondary.  “I’m not sure there is a whole lot of talent at cornerback or safety.  I hope I am wrong, but that could be our Achilles heel.”

On the positive side, Rendell says the Eagles have talent in linebackers.  “They started off with two good lineman from last year in Demeco Ryan and Mychal Kendricks.  They added Connor Barwin from the Texans who I think is a very good 3-4 linebacker.”

You can hear the Eagles game on our sister station Eagle 107.  The countdown to kickoff starts at 6:00p.m. and kickoff is just after 7:00p.m. (Sara Bartlett)
