Evangelical Community Hospital names new chair
LEWISBURG – Evangelical Community Hospital has named a new chair and vice-chair of their Board of Directors. Roger S. Haddon Jr., president and CEO of Sunbury Broadcasting Corporation will serve as Chairman of the Board for the next two years, while Dr. Julie A. Barna, has been appointed as the new Vice Chair. Michael O’Keefe, president and CEO of Evangelical Community Hospital, is pleased with the selections.
O’Keefe said, “We are excited for the energy and enthusiasm they are going to bring to this leadership role for the board. The board oversees the major governance for the hospital itself. Each of these individuals are very much involved, not only in their own businesses, but also in the community at large. I think they are going to bring a great perspective, and just enthusiasm, not only for the organization, but how we can best serve the community.”
Roger Haddon has been a member of the board since 2003 and has been serving as the Vice Chair for the past two years. He said we are very fortunate to have Evangelical Community Hospital in the community.
Haddon explained, “I think you have to experience Evan first-hand. I think if you do, you will understand that, as we say in health care, Evangelical is both high-tech and high-touch. It’s a very personal and caring experience when you come across Evan’s staff, doctors and nurses and you will also find the technology is second to none.”
Haddon added, “It’s exemplary health care. It’s unique and almost a bit unusual that you can find the high quality of health care that you find at Evan, in a small rural area.”
Dr. Barna has been on the Evangelical Community Hospital Board of Directors since 2010 and is the owner of a general dentistry practice that has been serving the area since 1984. (Ali Stevens)
