Father gets 2-years for child’s death
SUNBURY – The father of a one-year-old child who died in October of 2010 in Sunbury has pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment. Lopaka Loner was sentenced by President Judge Robert Sacavage to up to 2-years in prison.
The baby girl, Aneela Loner, died from 20 hours of heat exposure after she was left alone in a small room with a heating device. The child’s mother and grandmother were also charged in the case. Both Heidi Yocum of Lewisburg and Bertha Dreese of Selinsgrove are awaiting court dates on involuntary manslaughter charges. (Ali Stevens)
