February means Rock Red for Healthy Hearts
Sunbury- Did you know cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women age 20 and over? It is because of staggering facts like this that WKOK is teaming up with Evangelical Community Hospital to make February Rock Red for Healthy Hearts month. Along with our partners we will be bringing you tips and the latest events to ensure that we are all doing our best to stay heart healthy.
Dr. Petra Lynch, a Geisinger Interventional Cardiologist and member of the on site Evangelical Cardiovascular Care Team, explains that, “Heart disease, especially in our area is completely under estimated.” She also emphasized the importance of “Listening to your symptoms, especially exertional symptoms.” Dr. Lynch listed chest pain, jaw pain, stomach pain, and even exertional headaches as reasons to consult your doctor.
Meet Dr. Lynch for Talk with the Doc, a session focused on heart health Tuesday, February 12th 6:30 PM at Evangelical Community Hospital. Don’t forget to listen to WKOK throughout the month of February to hear more about prevention of heart disease during “Rock Red for Healthy Hearts”.
