Fire hits New Berlin home

 

NEW BERLIN – A home near New Berlin was heavily damaged by fire last night. The fire started around 8 p.m. at 106 Sleep Hollow Lane in Buffalo Township. Firefighters from Mifflinburg, New Berlin, Lewisburg, Penns Creek and Middleburg were on the scene until about 9:15 p.m. putting out the fire.

 

The Daily Item reports the fire started at the back of the home and then spread to the roof. Firefighters were able to save the rest of the home. Alex and Irina Tatarina-Maistrenco live in the home with their six children. They are not insured. All members of the family got out safely. (Ali Stevens)
