Fire destroys Meiserville home

MEISERVILLE — The cause of a fire that destroyed a Snyder County home has not been determined.  The blaze that left three people homeless in Meiserville broke out just after 6:00p.m. Wednesday.


The home in the 3600 block of Route 104 was owned by Jim and Veronica Swartz. The couple and their son were not home at the time of the fire.  Two dogs were killed.


The Red Cross is assisting the family with food and clothing. Their home is destroyed.  Several crews from Snyder and Perry Counties responded to the scene. (Sara Bartlett)
