Former Bucknell student gets probation for theft

LEWISBURG – A former Bucknell University student charged with stealing laptop computers and other items from fellow fraternity brothers has been sentenced to two-years of probation. The Daily Item reports 21-year-old Carter Wells of Branford, Connecticut will also have to pay restitution totaling about $1,200 and perform 250 hours of community service in his home state.

 

Wells was expelled form Bucknell and is now attending a college near his home. He pleaded guilty to burglaries on February 16th and 17th at the Delta Upsilon Fraternity House at Bucknell. A co-defendant, 21-year-old Jeffrey Finegan of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, entered a guilty plea in July and he will be sentenced September 15th. He is also expected to receive probation.
