Former Norry chief runs for magistrate
NORTHUMBERLAND— The former Northumberland police chief Larry Redington is entering the race for district justice. Redington says he hopes to be the magistrate to fill the post once held by William Kear.
The magisterial district is has its office in Milton and reaches as far south as PointTownship, where Redington resides. He is a former police chief in Northumberland and is a former police officer in Point Township. He says he has extensive experience with law enforcement including investigations, arrests, and civil proceedings.
He also says he has experience with drug law investigations, search warrants and is certified by Susquehanna Valley Women in Transition in domestic violence investigation. He hopes to replace the interim magistrate who is serving since Kear’s retirement. Redington says he will devote his full attention to the office and will be a full time magistrate.
