Former police chief gets probation and fine

LEWISBURG — Former Hartleton Police Chief Donald Zerbe was sentenced Friday to one year probation.  This is in connection with theft from the borough.

In December Zerbe was found guilty of theft for allowing motorists pulled over for a speeding ticket to pay money to the Hartleton Playground Fund instead of paying the ticket fine.  Judge Michael Hudock also ordered Zerbe to pay $5,000 in restitution. (Sara Bartlett)
