Speeding teen nails bus, four kids hurt

DANVILLE – A speeding teen slammed into a school bus Friday and injured several students on the bus. Four children were taken to Geisinger Medical Center with minor injuries after the crash Friday in Derry Township, Montour County.

State police say a 17-year-old from Danville (who they do not identify because of his age) was speeding north on Blee Hill Road around 3:40 p.m. and lost control of his car. The teen’s car struck a school bus driven by 49-year-old James McManus of Bloomsburg. The bus then stopped in a grassy berm.

Three boys and girl on the bus were taken to Geisinger. The driver of the bus and the teen were not injured. The teen is facing citations following that crash on Friday afternoon. (Ali Stevens)
