Free concert on Weis Center lawn Friday
LEWISBURG — Bucknell University is hosting a free outdoor concert Friday night. Bluegrass trio Red Molly will be gracing the Weis Center lawn. According to Kathryn Maguet, executive director of the Weis Center for Performing Arts, Friday’s concert will be a unique experience.
“Come early and bring your lawn chairs. We’ll have refreshments. It will be a nice evening of beautiful music,” Maguet said. “They’re real ‘up and comers’ in the Americana and Roots-type music scene. They opened for Willie Nelson this summer. They toured nationally and internationally. It is just a really great opportunity to see a terrific band at a really early stage in their career.”
Maguet said Red Molly should be a pleasing attraction for everyone. “We’ve got a great band. They are a trio of women instrumentalists and vocalists,” she said. “They’re really terrific musicians, and they are also young and beautiful. They’re going to be performing a nice set of music on the plaza area on Friday night.”
Red Molly will be performing outside the Weis Center on the campus of Bucknell University. The free concert starts at 5:45p.m., so as to not interfere with the Lewisburg High School football game. Maguet encourages everyone to arrive to the lawn early.
