Fugitive arrested in Benton

BENTON — A fugitive charged with a stabbing in August has been found and arrested.  According to the U.S. Marshals Service, 30-year-old Joseph C. Dunn was discovered in Benton Wednesday.

 

Dunn is charged with stabbing a person in Benton Township on August 28.  The victim reportedly had several stab wounds in the head, chest and back and had to be flown to Geisinger Medical Center for emergency care.  State police identified the suspect as Dunn, and an arrest warrant was issued in August with charges including: Criminal Attempt and Criminal Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.  State police requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest Dunn.

 

He was discovered Wednesday morning on Cole Road in Benton.  Dunn was taken into custody without incident.  He has been turned over to state police in Bloomsburg.  (Codi Jade)
