Gas prices dropping.. slowly

LEWISBURG — Gas prices may still be considered high, but they are on their way down.  According to AAA East Central, gas prices in The Valley dropped over nine cents to an average $3.691 per gallon this week.

Nationally, today’s average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $3.69.  That is a penny less than one week ago, two cents less than one month ago, and fifteen cents less than the price one year ago.

AAA says, gas prices are down regionally almost 12 cents year-over-year.  Locally, Lewisburg is currently the cheapest place to fill up your tank.  Gas prices there are averaging $3.623 today.  Sunbury gas prices are around $3.695.  Selinsgrove is now averaging $3.697.  Shamokin is currently offering the most expensive tank of gas, at $3.748.
