Goal reached for the Needy Family Fund

SUNBURY – The Needy Family Fund has reached their $75,000 goal.  Major Sharon Cupp of the Sunbury Salvation Army credits the very generous people of The Valley.  “Everybody who donates does a wonderful job at helping provide for people in need.  I think that is what I like about this community.  We always pull together to make sure people have a brighter Christmas.”

Today’s total is $78,235.  As in year’s past, a $25,000 grant from the Degenstein Foundation will be added to the fund says Cupp.  “The Degenstein Foundation is great because they see a need in our community and they help everyone that they can.”

Some recent contributions to the Needy Family Fund include $500 from Merle and Helen Phillips of Sunbury, $200 from Glenn and Pat Napp of Winfield in memory of Rex and Timothy Napp, and $50 from Dolores Yost of Turbotville.  There was also $340 in anonymous donations.  You can still donate to the Needy Family Fund at any branch of Susquehanna Bank.
