Haines Music acquired by another music company
SELINSGROVE – The owners of Haines Music of Selinsgrove are retiring after 37-years in the music business, but another music company will be taking over. Robert M. Sides Family Music Centers of Williamsport will be acquiring the Haines Music store. Peter Sides is president of the Music Centers and is excited about the opportunity.
Sides said, “Haines Music does a lot of the same things we do in terms of renting and selling musical instruments to schools. When Nevin and Pam contacted me, it was obviously something we were very interested in and a good natural fit for us.”
Sides says music is still a big part of local schools and they are glad to have needed services. They are also happy to inherit another part of Haines. Sides said, “They have an employee here, Rob Ensinger, who has been with them over 25-years, and he will be coming on board and working with us. We couldn’t ask for a better person to be coming on our team.”
Haines music was founded in 1965 by Ward Haines and the store was owned and operated by Pam and Nevin Garrett. They hand the business over to the Robert Sides Family Music Centers, which has been family owned and operated for over 75 years. The last day of business at the Selinsgrove location will be Saturday February 2. There will also be an inventory clearance sale on February 21, 22, 23. (Ali Stevens)
