Home heavily damaged by fire near Dornsife


DORNSIFE – A two story home was heavily damaged by fire near Dornsife on Thursday afternoon. The fire started just before 5 p.m. at the home of Dale and Sarah Rice and their two children.


The families two dogs were killed in the fire, that gutted the interior of the home. Twelve volunteer fire companies responded to the blaze and were able to bring the fire under control in about 30 minutes.


The home is owned by Bob Wolfe of Herndon. There were no injuries reported. The cause of the fire is not yet known. The family will stay with relatives. (Ali Stevens)
