Home invasion investigated in Point Township

Breaking newsPOINT TWP — Point Township Police are looking for two people involved in a home invasion and burglary Tuesday morning.  Point Township Police Chief Josh VanKirk tells us they received a call just after 11:40a.m.  The homeowner at the home along Ridge Road told police that a man broke into his home and stole jewelry.

The homeowner and the suspect had a verbal altercation and the suspect fled the scene on foot, eventually getting into a vehicle driven by another person.  The homeowner described the man in his home as about 5’8″ wearing dark clothing with his hood up and a mask.  The homeowner describes the vehicle as a light to medium blue station wagon or hatchback.

VanKirk says no weapons were shown during the burglary and there were no injuries reported.  VanKirk says the public is not in danger, but is reminding homeowners to keep their doors locked, even if they are home.  Local and state police are continuing their investigation.  Anyone with information or who may have seen something suspicious in the area is asked to call police.
