Hundreds brave the cold to enjoy the Ice Festival

LEWISBURG — Despite temperatures in the teens on Saturday morning, hundreds turned out for the annual Frosty 5K, which is part of the Heart of Lewisburg Ice Festival.  The race was hosted this year by the Lewisburg Rotary Club and participants received an ear-warmer head band, which came in handy during the chilly race.

Even though the day was extremely cold, many also turned out for the kid’s games in HufnaglePark and the chili cook-off, which was held indoors.  Saturday evening was the Chocolate Lover’s Festival at the Lewisburg Hotel, which benefits the Donald Heiter Community Center.  The Polar Bear Plunge was canceled because of high water on the West Branch of the Susquehanna River.
