Interstate 80 finally reopens after a crash

BLOOMSBURG – Interstate 80 westbound reopened around 10:30 this morning, after being closed since 1 a.m. due to a truck crash. The crash took place in the westbound lanes between the Lime Ridge and Lightstreet exits.

Emergency crews say a tanker truck crashed and leaked about 100 gallons of fuel, prompting an extensive clean-up that took more than 8 hours. Hazmat crews were on the scene cleaning up the spill and remain there, but the highway is once again open to all traffic. It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the accident. (Ali Stevens)
