Judges recuse themselves from county lawsuit
SUNBURY – All three Northumberland County judges have recused themselves from hearing the lawsuit filed by four Northumberland County row officers whose salaries were slashed. Judge Charles Saylor, Judge William Wiest and President Judge Robert Sacavage have all filed paperwork to prevent involvement in the pending case.
The lawsuit was filed against the Northumberland County Commissioners this week by Register and Recorder Mary Zimmerman, Coroner James Kelley, Treasurer Kevin Gilroy and Sheriff Chad Reiner. The four row officers named in the suit had their salaries slashed up to 48 percent in a recent vote by Commissioner’s Vinny Clausi and Stephen Bridy. Commissioner Rick Shoch voted against the cuts.
