Kulpmont woman dies from crash injuries
KULPMONT — A woman critically injured in a crash on Tuesday in Coal Township has died from her injuries. 73-year-old Hazel Rooney was listed in critical condition at Geisinger Medical Center for several days and died on Saturday.
Rooney was a passenger in a car driven by her son, Howard Splitt Sr. of Mount Carmel, who collided with a northbound SUV that crossed into their lane along Route 61. Splitt and two others in the SUV had been treated and released from Geisinger. Rooney was pronounced dead on Saturday. (Ali Stevens)
