Landline calls are back in Snyder County
MIDDLEBURG – Workers doing repairs to a water line outside the area accidentally struck a fiber-optic cable on Sunday night, knocking out landline calls in Snyder County. Emergency Services in Snyder County said residents using landlines were unable to call 911 and had to use a cell phone.
They also rerouted landlines to Northumberland County Dispatch for any emergency calls. The problem was discovered around 8 p.m. and Verizon sent crews to the site for immediate repair work. By 11 p.m., service started up again and by 2 a.m., landlines were back to normal. (Ali Stevens)
