Large grant for Penn Valley Airport

SELINSGROVE – The Penn Valley Airport near Selinsgrove will receive a grant of more than $280,000 to design a terminal apron, where aircraft are parked and fueled.  The airport is among 35 airports in the state receiving a total of $18-million to improve safety and operations.  Funding is provided by state and federal agencies for the grants.

Governor Tom Corbett said, “When we expand a runway or make it safer to land at an airport, we ensure that they can meet business and community demands and continue supporting jobs.” The governor says public use airports support more than 300,000 jobs in the state.

The Bloomsburg Municipal Airport will also receive $158,000 to update the airport’s master plan.(Ali Stevens)
