Lewisburg tennis courts in need of repair

LEWISBURG — Four Lewisburg tennis courts are in need of repair and the Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority is looking for the public’s help.  There will be two upcoming meetings to seek input from the community on what to do with the tennis courts at the Lewisburg Area Recreation Park on St. Mary’s Street.  Officials say the courts are in need of resurfacing because there are numerous cracks and pock-marks.

BVRA says the cost of repairing or replacing the courts would be between $135,000-$142,000. They say they want to expand tennis lessons and programs, or are open to using the space in another capacity.

They are encouraging the public to attend one or both of the meetings to share their ideas.  They will be held Wednesday, November 6 at 7:30a.m. at Hideaway Cafe in Lewisburg and Wednesday, November 13 at 7:00p.m. at the Brookpark conference room in the Spring Run Facility. (Sara Bartlett)
