Lewisburg’s 4th of July Celebration

LEWISBURG — The heavy rain ended and skies cleared just in time for the Lewisburg fireworks Friday night.  Many came out to Wolfe Field and the surrounding area to watch as the fireworks lit up the sky.  Friday was the kickoff to four days of 4th of July events in Lewisburg.

Saturday the 19th annual Veterans 4th of July Parade kicks off at 10:00a.m.  It is followed by a Veterans recognition ceremony at noon, a picnic and band concert and the USO Gala Dance.  Sunday, the Campus Theatre will honor veterans with a showing of A League of Their Own.  Wednesday the Lewisburg Music in the Park will feature the 15th annual Stars, Stripes and Sousa concert featuring the Penn Central Wind Band.

Communities around The Valley are celebrating the 4th of July in the upcoming days.  We will be previewing more events coming up and you can see a schedule of firework dates and times here. (Sara Bartlett)
