Lewisburg’s National Night Out even bigger this year

LEWISBURG — Lewisburg’s National Night Out is coming up Tuesday.  With the newly created Buffalo Valley Regional Police, Officer Travis Burrows says the event will be even bigger than last year.  “We have over 70 agencies involved this year,” says Burrows, “we will have police K-9s doing demonstrations, a skydiving demonstration, free food and music and lots for the kids.”

Burrows says the national event is designed to generate support for residents to participate in local anti-crime programs.  “Basically, it helps strengthen the neighborhood spirit and the police/community partnership.”

National Night Out in Lewisburg will be held starting at5:00p.m.in the Lewisburg Area Recreation Authority Park.  Throughout The Valley National Night Out will also be held Tuesday in Sunbury, Danville and Milton. (Sara Bartlett)
