Lewisburg’s Walk MS event to draw crowds
LEWISBURG– The annual Walk MS event in Lewisburg is likely to draw in hundreds of participants. Held at the American Legion in Lewisburg on Sunday April 21st, the event supports a great cause. Site coordinator Sherry Welshans said that the event raises money for programs and medical research for the 6,700 people who suffer from MS in the area.
A mother of a child with MS, Welshans expressed gratitude for the community’s involvement in the annual event. She thanked sponsors and volunteers who helped make Walk MS a possibility each year.
“I want to thank all the volunteers and also, Kohl’s Cares, which is a thing that Kohl’s Department Stores do. They supply volunteers for that day also. To all of the community: thank you so much for your donations. We really appreciate it.”
Walk MS features a prize drawing, a bike raffle, and a raffle for 4 Phillies tickets, all of which were donations from members of the community. Welshans said that it is not too late for interested parties to get involved. Registration will be held the day of the event at 1:15pm for anybody wanting to walk around Lewisburg for a great cause.
