Limited time left to enter Valley’s Got Talent
SUNBURY – There is only a little bit of time left to enter a popular talent competition held during Sunbury River Festival. The Valley’s Got Talent competition will stop accepting performers on July 19th, so now is the time to apply. Slade Shreck organizes the event each year and said last year’s competition was held at Shikellamy High School auditorium and was a huge success.
Shreck said, “This year, I personally would like to see any kind of talent and not just singing. Juggling, dancing, gymnastics or any type of talent.” Shreck said first place will receive $400, second place gets $200 and there is a $100 prize for third place.
Shreck added, “Our sponsor for the event is Service Electric Cablevision. They also come in and videotape the finals. They did last year and they gave me the CD. It was unbelievable and they also had it on TV. That’s how we open up our River Festival.”
Those wanting to apply can go to www.sunburyriverfestival.com. Preliminary rounds will take place Jul7 25th and 26th at the Sunbury Elks. The judges will then narrow it down to 15 acts that will perform to start River Festival on Thursday, August 15th. Cash prizes will be given to those who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the competition.
